Work Experience Opportunity at Leeds Law Firm

Are you interested in a career in law and looking to gain an insight into how a national law firmworks?

Lyons Davidson Solicitors are offering a number of opportunities for keen and enthusiastic individuals to complete a work experience placement in our Leeds office. This is not paid employment, but an opportunity that offers first hand experience into the day-to-day workings of a law firm. This is a great opportunity for those who are currently studying at sixth form or college and are interested in developing a career in law. The work experience placements will take place between 12th February 2018 - 16th February 2018.


What does the work experience programme offer?

You will spend time in several different departments within their Leeds office, shadowing staff in
various roles within the business.
Some of the typical tasks you may get to experience during the placement are:
•Assisting with research into specific areas of law;
•Observing legal claims processes to gain an insight into reviewing legal cases;
•Helping with the preparation of court bundles;
•Listening to calls to clients and solicitors to gain knowledge of legal terms;
•Assisting with admin duties across their support departments.


For those individuals who perform well during the work placement and receive positive feedback on
completion of the programme, there may be the potential to complete a paid internship for six weeks
during the summer.


Requirements

You must be studying at sixth form/college or have just completed your studies and have:
•5 GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths;
•An interest in law or working within the legal profession;
•Good communication skills;
•A willingness to learn.


You must be available from 12th February 2018 - 16th February 2018.
