Government Economics Service Open Day - Thursday 18th April

The Government Economic Service are running an open day in Leeds on the 18th April, aimed at encouraging more women to consider careers in economics. You don't have to be studying Economics, just have an interest in Economics as a career.

"Are you interested in learning more about what economists employed by the UK’s largest recruiter of economists do? Economists in the government economic service (GES) put economics at the heart of the policy-making process, to influence and shape the government’s response to some of the key issues of the day. Being a government economist is not just a question of analysing figures. It is work that sees economists closely involved in important current issues and helping shape government policy.
We are running an open day with a focus on increasing representation of women in the economics profession, and encouraging recruitment, progression and retention of women economists in government. This will provide a forum to challenge and support any worries you have as female graduates preparing for the next stage in your career.
If you are studying economics or a mixed degree with at least 50% of economic subjects and are eligible to work in the UK. Join us a for the Government Economic Service Open Day."
As this day falls in college time you will need to get permission from your Progress Tutor to attend.
