Reach for Excellence and Next Steps York Applications Open Now
Two widening participation programmes have opened up for students in Year 12 to apply for;
The University of Leeds Reach for Excellence Programme is for Year 12 students who are expecting good grades at A Level and that either come from an area with low progression to University, are a family first to university or who has experienced disruption or financial difficulty in the course of their education (see Leeds full eligibility criteria here.)
You don't have to commit to applying to Leeds University in Y13, in fact you don't need to put them down as a choice at all. Being part of the Reach for Excellence Programme is a great addition for your UCAS application wherever you apply to. Students on RfE will be automatically eligible for the Access to Leeds Scheme with a two grade lower offer at Leeds.
For more information see the website.
Deadline for applications is 17th November
A similar programme is run by the University of York, and involves a number of activities throughout the course of your time at college.
For more information make sure you attend the Next Steps York Talk on the top floor of the LRC on the 23rd November 12.15-1.00, or see the website.
