West Yorkshire Police Recruitment

Home page | West Yorkshire Police

Are you looking for a new career?  An opportunity to help people and make a real difference in your community?  A job where no two days are ever the same?

Have you considered becoming a Police Officer?

Recruitment is now open!  The deadline for applications is 20th September 2020.

West Yorkshire Police is particularly looking for people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to apply for our Police Constable Apprenticeship Programme, as we are striving to recruit from under-represented communities, to enable us to better represent the communities we serve.

We have a dedicated Positive Action Team who can give advice and support BAME applicants through every stage of the recruitment process, so if you’re interested in applying you can contact the team by email – positive.action@westyorkshire.police.uk quoting ‘JULY2020’

The leaflet below gives more information about the course details and future career opportunities that being a police officer can offer. This entry route is for people who do not already have a degree.  You can apply from 17 years old, but you will need to be 18 years old to start your course.  If you are due to receive your Level 3 qualifications in 2021, you can apply now, based on your predicted grades.

Or for more information about becoming a police officer, why not join one of our Facebook Live sessions on Thursday 27th August at 5.30pm or Tuesday 8th September at 3pm, where you will get the opportunity to ask current police officers any questions around the recruitment process, the course, the training, or what it is like to be a police officer.

For those people interested in becoming a Police Officer who already have a degree, recruitment for the Degree Holder Entry Programme is expected to open in January 2021.

More information about both entry routes and the application form for the apprenticeships is available on the West Yorkshire Police website – www.westyorkshire.police.uk/joinus
