Town Planning Degree Apprenticeship Opportunities with Wakefield Council


Wakefield Council are looking to recruit Town Planning Apprentices who will be able to work towards a Level 6 degree in Town Planning. Please see below for more details, and link to apply:

We are looking to recruit 2 ambitious individuals who are interested in developing their career in Town Planning and Local Government, to help us to deliver a high quality Development Management service.

The starting salary would be offered within a grade band that reflects the successful candidate's current experience, skill set, knowledge and qualifications.
You will see from the Job Specification that there is an opportunity to also gain a Town Planning degree qualification at Level 6 - by studying during your employment at a local University. This will mean no University debt as the course is paid for via the Council apprenticeship levy.

Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the ability and/or experience to progress through the grades, can demonstrate an understanding of the associated processes, planning policy and legislation, and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills. 

Successful candidates will, with training and support, be able to case manage and coordinate a range of short to medium term projects and queries to meet specific outcomes and deadlines.

Good IT skills, accurate record keeping, being outcome focused, having effective communication skills, are essential requirements of the post. A full, clean driving licence is a requirement for progression to grades 5-6.
