University of Hull Year 12 Summer School Applications Now Open!

The University of Hull have announced that their Summer School applications are now open. If you are in Year 12 you can apply to attend the University of Hull Year 12 Summer School, running from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th July 2019.

This is a tremendous opportunity for year 12 students to experience living away from home and sample social and academic life within a HE environment. You can choose from 11 possible academic disciplines and this subject area will remain the focus for the duration of the Summer School. Students will stay in modern, on-campus accommodation and will be supervised by university staff and supported by student ambassadors.

The summer school is open to all students in Year 12 who have a minimum of five GCSEs at
grades A*-C (or 9-4) and are predicted to get at least BBC in three A Levels or DMM in BTECs. Places are limited for each subject area. Where possible, priority will be given to
students who:

are the first person in their immediate family to go to university straight from school or college

• are a carer or care leaver

• have a disability, long-standing medical condition, a learning difficulty or mental
health issue

• attend a school or college that is part of the University of Hull’s Principal Partner College Network (which New College Pontefract is!)

• live in a geographical area with low levels of progression to higher education

Students who meet the personal and academic criteria outlined can apply by following this link: https://bit.ly/2CmHdZP

(some academic disciplines have limited availability so early applications are encouraged).

Please note, supporting information will also need to be provided by your Progress Tutor and a parent/carer,and completed applications should be submitted by no later than 4.00pm on Wednesday 24th April.
