Leeds Trinity University Future Teachers’ Conference – An exciting opportunity for Year 12 and 13 students to get ahead in their primary education careers.
Thursday 25 April 2019, 9.30am – 3.30pm
Leeds Trinity are offering Year 12 and Year 13 students an opportunity to attend a Future Teachers Conference in the Easter holidays. If you are considering becoming a primary teacher, or are thinking of entering the teaching profession, this event would be a good opportunity to attend.

"At Leeds Trinity University, we believe it’s never too early to prepare students for their teaching career. That’s why we would like to invite your Year 12 and 13 students to our annual Future Teachers’ Conference – an exclusive free event which provides students with the chance to meet inspirational teachers and head teachers, learn about the latest teaching trends and start building the experiences and knowledge they will need for their application to university.

Our Keynote Speaker
Students will attend an inspirational talk from Greg Bottril, a leading Educational Consultant and former assistant head teacher, whose pedagogy is centred on the idea of children leading their own learning adventures. Greg has expertise in the principles of quality teaching, enabling environments and emotional connection to learning across all of the primary age range. Schools which Greg has worked with have noticed significant impact within their teams, their practice and their pupils. Greg’s bestselling Early Years book ‘Can I Go and Play Now?’ provides further insight into his pedagogy and practice, and the challenging role of the early years teacher.

Workshops
There are three workshops taking place during the conference, which all students will have the chance to attend. The workshops are:
·         Workshop one – Mapping your Journey and Building your Story (Amanda Nuttall and Vanessa Sawyer)
·         Workshop two – Networking with Educational Professionals (Jonelle Yeoman, Duggie Speight, Sabrina Pinnock and Kimberly Smith)
·         Workshop three – Social Media and Digital Information Awareness (Marcus Sugden)
Who should attend?
The event will be of particular interest to Year 12 and 13 students who are interested in studying Primary Education at university.
Cost
Tickets for this event are free, but booking is essential.
