Year 12 Higher Education Evening for Parents and Carers


Our “Year 12 Higher Education Evening for Parents & Carers” will be held on Tuesday 14th May from 7.00pm until 8.30pm in the Students’ Union.

Going to university can be a big decision for any young person, and this event aims to give parents/carers the chance to find out more about the application process for university. Students will be encouraged to start researching their options and preparing their applications before the summer, and so this event will aim to prepare parents and carers.

The evening will consist of the following talks:


Introduction/How does New College Pontefract support students in applying to university
Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning

Benefits of going to University and the UCAS process
Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer, University of Hull

Student Finance
Schools and Colleges Liaison Manager, Leeds Beckett University
