University of Hull Year 12 Summer School Applications Now Open! The University of Hull have announced that their Summer School applications are now open. If you are in Year 12 you can  apply to attend the University of Hull Year 12 Summer School, running from Monday 15 th to Thursday 18 th July 2019. This is a tremendous opportunity for year 12 students to experience living away from home and sample social and academic life within a HE environment. You can choose from 11 possible academic disciplines and this subject area will remain the focus for the duration of the Summer School. Career Routes in the Civil Service The Civil Service traditionally recruit every year at this time for their fast track scheme for apprentices. However, the scheme is now under review. It is likely that the scheme will start back up again next year but they would like to stress that despite not having the fast track scheme available this year, there are lots of other opportunities to work in the Civil Service through direct entry. Nuffield STEM Research Placements - Summer 2019   Year 12 students studying one or more A-levels in science, technology, engineering or maths and who meet the listed eligibility criteria (see website), are invited to apply to the Nuffield Foundation to carry out a Nuffield Research Placement.   Placements are between 4 and 6 weeks in length and are available in your local area during July and August 2019.  Placements could be in a university, research institute, company or voluntary organisation.  You will work alongside professional researchers on a project that is an important part of their business.   There are no cost implications for you (travel costs will be reimbursed).
